Meet Laura Brand, founder
The Church’s story is not finished — and Laura Brand wants to help people find their place in it.
A Catholic speaker, retreat director, and Director of Religious Education, Laura has spent years helping adults, families, and catechists, and others rediscover the beauty and coherence of the Catholic faith. Her work is rooted in the conviction that truth doesn’t need to be reinvented — it needs to be re-encountered.
Laura is a Colorado native, a convert to the Catholic Faith, and spends her days homeschooling her two sons on their family homestead in Kiowa, Colorado. She credits her husband, Darren, for her introduction to the Catholic Faith.
Laura holds a Bachelor’s degree in Theology from Catholic International University and is currently completing her Master of Divinity at St. Bernard’s School of Theology and Ministry. Her teaching and retreat writing draw deeply from Scripture, the Church Fathers, and the lived experience of the saints — bringing timeless doctrine to life for today’s disciples. What started in study and classroom has become a mission: to help others move from understanding to encounter, from knowledge to transformation.
Whether she’s leading a parish formation day, directing a retreat, or speaking to a room of Catholic educators, Laura invites others to see that the living Tradition of the Church is not a museum of truths — it’s a meeting place with the living Christ.
Through The Living Tradition Project, Laura brings theology down from the ivory tower and into the heartbeat of everyday faith — showing how grace, story, and truth still move in our time.
What We Believe: The Living Tradition
The Church’s story is ever ancient, ever new. That means that what Catholics believed two thousand years ago still matters. But more than that—it still acts. God still speaks. Saints still inspire. And ordinary moments still become sacramental.
In her ministry with The Living Tradition Project, Laura helps faith leaders, catechists, parents, parish teams, and the lay faithful to do three things:
Hear the Word anew—Scripture not only read but encountered.
Live the Sacrament— let the Eucharist shape our hearts, Reconciliation renew our souls, and the Spirit send us forth in love.
Be the Witness—carry that light into homes, schools, workplaces, and neighborhoods.
